REPORT ON TESTS OF PHYSICAL AND FIRE EXTINGUISHING PROPERTIES
OF FIRE EXTINGUISHING POWDER “IMPULSE-STORM”
No 16-IS
Date November 12, 2006
Tested material characteristic
The object of the tests is a fire extinguishing powder “Impulse Storm Powder” ISP. The fire extinguishing powder is a mono-containing material and represents a fine-ground mineral of natural origin. The mechanism of fire extinguishing action of the powder is in inhibiting the reaction of burning by means of binding active centers of chain reactions occurring in the flame.
Powder having dispersion of not less than 40 mkm was provided for the tests.
Methods for conducting tests
The tests of the fire extinguishing powder “Impulse-Storm” are conducted in accordance with the Norms of Fire Safety of Russia No. 170-98 “Fire extinguishing powders of general purpose. General technical requirements. Methods of tests”.
The following technical characteristics are determined:
- apparent density of non-compacted powder;
- apparent density of compacted powder;
- determining dimension of powder particles;
- determining capacity for extinguishing a model fire center of A class;
- determining capacity for extinguishing a model fire center of B class;
